video game console, nintendo console Apple announced over a year ago that they were in development of their first portable video game console. Since then there has not been much buzz, leaked intel. or updates to how far they have come. I’m wondering if there portable video game console is going to be a big hit or massive flop. I was reminded of this last night after an iPhone commercial (attached below) highlighting all the fun games a person can download and play on the move. Not having an iPhone but looking over the shoulder of many people who do it is clear their mobile device has the largest array of games.

If Apple comes out swinging there will be no stopping a company who has already cornered the cell phone, laptop and MP3 market. Well maybe not the laptop market but they are getting close. I have a feeling Apple’s portable video game console will be on par with a Nintendo console. I see their marketing strategy to be promoting a long list of cheap, addictive, third party and company made titles. I am excited to see what they have up their sleeves even being a Microsoft fan.
