A good friend of mine has two twin sons who are about ten years old. They love playing their Nintendo DS Lite, but sometimes they don’t like each other all that much. I was over at his house the other day and they started arguing about one thing or another, as kids can tend to often do. After a few sessions of time outs, I devised a plan to reunite the quarrelling pair of siblings. We took their Nintendo DS Lite units and put a fighting game in them and linked it up. Duke it out online on your Nintendo DS Lite we told the boys – the winner is the winner. The pair hopped on their Nintendo DS Lite, overjoyed to realize that they were not in trouble anymore. Before even a few moments had passed, we realized that they were getting along again and behaving like a pair of great kids. At first glance I thought it was silly that video games like the Nintendo DS Lite offers could unite kids who were fighting. Then again, looking back, they learned how to move past their bickering and play a game together, collectively; a good start, and a surprising one using the Nintendo DS Lite.
