Try Stocking Your Video Game Console With Used Games |

If your kids are as obsessed as mine are with playing their video game console, whether it's a Wii, a Nintendo DS Lite, or some other Nintendo console, then you know that you can easily go broke trying to keep your youngsters happy by purchasing every new game as it comes out. Well, I've found one way to keep my kids happy and my wallet full of cash at the same time. Do you want to know my secret? I go to my local used book and video store, which also stocks used games for just about any video game console imaginable, even ones that play on my DVD home theater system. The kids love those because they can play them on a 42" screen and can hear all the sound effects in all their surround sound glory. Even though they may be clamoring for the latest version of SuperMario brothers or whatever, my theory is that if they haven't played a particular used game before, then to them, it's a new game. Generally this attitude works pretty well, even though sometimes they try to nag or strongarm me into buying the latest version of Call of Duty. But if you're smart, you won't spend all your money buying new games constantly, you'll keep your video game console stocked with a mix of brand new and used games to keep the kids happy and occupied. Try my way of doing it for a while and see if I'm not right. |
